Who & Where

Dan Patrick
On June 27, 2013, Dan Patrick announced his intention to run for the GOP nomination as Lt. Governor rather than run for re-election to the State Senate.

District Outlook
With Senator Patrick running for Lt. Governor instead of re-election, the prohibitive favorite for succeeding him will be former Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector, Paul Bettencourt. Auto dealer Sam Harless (also husband to State Rep. Patricia Harless) had considered running, but opted out.
